Staff Selection Commission Junior Engg. Level conducts written exam of subjective and conventional type every year for Junior Engineer posts. Large number of candidates usually appear for this test but only a few are able to qualify it. The selection for JE posts is done on the basis of marks in written exam and interview. As compared to other competitive examinations theses exams are more difficult as they deal more with the technical knowledge of the particular specialization for which the candidate is applying. The standard of questions in Engineering will be approximately of the level of Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ electronics/electrical/civil) from a recognized Institute, Board or University recognized by All India Board of Technical Education. Anyone who have an engineering background (degree or diploma) can appear for the examination.
